Dear reader,
It’s getting close to the end of the year. I used to be one of those organised people who has all their Christmas shopping done by now. Somehow, I lost that habit. At least there’s still plenty of time left.
Since I finished Clashing with the CEO, I’ve been working on a shorter story as an interlude before my next full-length novel. Problem is, this is turning out to be a longer story than I thought it would be—novella length, at least. That’s why I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it this year anymore.
The book is another office romance, but more like a romcom with lower stakes compared to CWTC.
I’ve had a haphazard approach to writing books in the past, so right now I’m outlining this WIP scene by scene, plot point by plot point. I hope this will make writing the first draft a much smoother experience. This process HARD though. It’s planning out the fine details of what happens in each scene that I find the most mentally taxing. But I’m sure it will be worthwhile in the end.
As I mentioned in my last update, I’m doing a writing challenge in November. My hope is to finish the first draft. I’ll be happy with 25k-30k words, which might be the whole story or might not be. But it’ll definitely still need rewrites and editing afterwards. I anticipate being able to release it in early 2025.
As for the follow up book to Clashing with the CEO—my next “main” novel, I haven’t exactly decided what story I’m going to write yet. I did have a good idea, but I’ve decided to shelve it because it won’t be marketable enough as an office romance (more like a revenge drama with romantic suspense.)
All this to say, I don’t know what my release schedule for 2025 is going to look like, but there should be at least one new book from me coming your way.
