Dear reader,
This is the year I've decided to make an effort to get back into reading.
Last year, I hardly read any books. It wasn't for lack of trying—I started many… I just couldn’t finish them. It takes a lot to hold my attention these days, and I’m sooo picky!
Time for a new approach:
Revisiting series where I enjoyed the first book, but never continued on to the later books.
Reading more from backlists of authors I already know I like.
Indulging in some "guilty pleasure" reading (Light novels, manga, etc).
I've never followed what's new and trendy when it comes to books, and that's not about to change now. I also prefer to start series that already have multiple books out rather than having to wait impatiently for the next new release!
As for format, audiobooks are still my go-to, but it really depends on the book. The more immersive a story world is, the more I’ll enjoy reading it in print.
I've been tracking my reading habit by ticking off a checkbox each day. I've also recently switched from Goodreads to The StoryGraph to log my books, though I admit I've never been great about keeping track of what I’ve read. But I'm trying!
Happy reading,
Sara
