Dear reader,
It’s been a wee while. Writing update: I’m still re-outlining. This is the most extensive outline I have ever done for a book. I’m nearly halfway through. I lost some writing time due to a family holiday in late January, which has put me behind where I wanted to be at the stage. I also can’t deny this process feels like a slog sometimes. But I think it will be worth it in the end.
As always, I’m working in Scrivener (where would I be without Scrivener?). I’m writing a short overview of each scene in the Synopsis section, detailed scene beats in the Notes section, and tagging scenes with dates in Custom Metadata for the timeline. Whenever I come across a character or location which I haven’t yet created a profile for, I’m highlighting it to come back to later (character and location profiles are a must for me).
My days have pretty much been outlining, day job, exercise, K-drama, repeat.
That’s right—for the first time in ages, I’m back into K-dramas (after a long series of dropped attempts: Flower of Evil, True Beauty, Moving, Crash Landing on You, A Shop for Killers). The show that brought me back was Doubt. I loved it - 10/10. Great writing, acting, cinematography, and music. Try it if you like crime/mystery in the vein of Mouse, Signal, and Stranger. I was so impressed by Han Suk-Kyu that I'm going to watch Dr. Romantic next.
What else? I’ve been really enjoying my Zumba class once a week (can you believe Zumba is still a thing? Always thought it would be a fad like Tae Bo).
I’ve also been addicted to Pokemon TCG Pocket for quite some time (as a free player). This is the first time I’ve ever been so into a mobile game.
That’s pretty much everything! Bye for now.
