Dear reader,
It’s been a while. Truth be told, I had the last two newsletters drafted, I just never got around to sending them. I don’t know why! Overwhelm, I guess. Anyways, I’m back today with a bumper update.
T and I bought our first home and moved in late August. It’s a three-bedroom townhouse in an awesome neighbourhood. We feel incredibly blessed—just a couple of years ago, we thought we would never be able to afford to buy a house.
Things changed early this year. Everything just happened to align to make it possible, especially with the house market turning into a buyer’s market. We knew what we wanted, acted quickly, and it all came together.
We love our house and have no regrets! But after moving in, I had the strangest case of anxiety. I felt like it was too good to be true and any minute something bad would happen to balance it out. Like I was about to wake up and find out it was all just a dream. A few weeks later, I'm feeling a bit more settled.
I can see myself happily living in this house for a very long time. It’s the first time in my adult life having a stable place to call home!
Shortly after moving in, we went on our Melbourne trip. Bad timing since we didn’t want to leave the house. But it was nice to have our first holiday in several years.
Main highlight of the trip was the food! As someone who doesn’t usually dine out much, it was a treat to visit so many fantastic restaurants.
Didn't do much shopping in the end, but did browse a lot including multiple bookstores. T was the one who bought so many books his luggage was overweight. He had to transfer some of his stuff into my suitcase.
I didn't do any writing while I was away, but I hadn't expected to. I needed to recharge my battery.
Both of us got sick (of course). T picked something up from the work event he went to, then I caught it. Nearly back to normal now.

It's now a month post launch for Clashing with the CEO. So far the reviews have been great but sales pretty lacklustre.
I guess I had higher expectations for this book than my past books because I put so much more effort into it. It's still early days, though. I plan on writing more books for this "series" of standalones. Hopefully things will pick up in the future.
